Health & Safety
A recent unannounced visit by the HSE onto one of Kingstone’s Housing Association clients brought high praise for Kingstone’s approach to site Health & Safety. A clean bill of health was given with congratulations to everyone involved with comment from the client that ‘this outcome fully reflects the attitude of Kingstone Civil Engineering in all its aspects’.
Apprencticeships
Congratualtions goes to our youngest operative Kane Boden who has recently completed and passed his apprenticeship at the CITB’s National College for Apprenticeships with a programme specializing in groundworks. Kane has been awarded a Level 2 Diploma in Construction Operations. With Kane’s success, Kingstone are now looking to extend its apprenticeship programme.
Training
Training continues to be a major focus for Kingstone with all operatives having successfully completed their NVQ Level 2 training in safe plant operations. The training in conjunction with Construction Learning World is now being extended to site management and operations with the focus on groundworks. This programme meets with Kingstone’s objective to be 100% CSCS/CPCS carded and in due course to seek the CITB Gold Award for training.
Kingstone in the Community
Kingstone were instrumental in helping the Burton Friends Fundraising Group for the Donna Louise Childrens Hospice Trust based in Stoke on Trent in building a large pavilion in the garden of the hospice. This pavillion is for the use of children who are confined to bed to enjoy quality time outdoors. Mark Stubbs. Kingstone’s Site Support Manager along with the generous help of some of Kingstone’s major suppliers provided the labour and materials to construct the pavilion base. The pavillion was constructed by students from Burton College and was formally opened by Lord Stafford at a recent ribbon cutting ceremony.
Current Works
Kingstone’s work continues to be varied with new housing developments starting for Seddon Homes & Jessup Build, a regeneration scheme for Shropshire Housing and the construction of new transport bays on various VOSA sites around the North of England.
